The Media Relations Office at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is the bridge between the University and local, state and national media.The office works with print, electronic and broadcast media outlets to advance all aspects of the University's mission — including academic programs, University research, student achievement, athletics, campus life and more.
Rod Sievers, assistant to the chancellor for media relations, is the University spokesman and the main contact for requests regarding events and issues relating to SIUC. Media Relations works closely with SIUC's University Communications office to coordinate marketing, media coverage and promotion of various events taking place on campus.
