Dear students, faculty and staff:
Southern Illinois University Carbondale's Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is now available. This report is required by federal law and contains policy statements, reporting options, emergency response information and crime and fire statistics for the university.
It also reflects our ongoing commitment to campus safety and security. This commitment was reflected in our recent ranking among the “Top 100 Safest Colleges in America 2017.”
In the report, you’ll find statements that address the university's policies, procedures and programs concerning safety and security. The report also includes three years of statistics for certain types of crimes that were reported to have occurred on campus, in off-campus buildings or on property owned or controlled by SIU Carbondale, and on public property within or immediately adjacent to campus. In addition, the report includes three years of statistics regarding fires that occurred in on-campus student housing facilities.
The report is accessible online. You may also request a paper copy from the SIU Carbondale Department of Public Safety located at Trueblood Hall, 1175 S. Washington St.
Ensuring that our campus is a safe place to work and learn is a top priority and shared responsibility. To learn more about how you can contribute to campus safety, visit safe.siu.edu.
